What is the difference between concrete repair and resurfacing?
Short answer: Repair addresses cracks, settlement, and structural issues. Resurfacing applies a new wear layer to the top of an otherwise sound slab to renew its appearance and protect the surface.
Resurfacing is cosmetic and protective — it does not fix underlying movement.
Cracks and settlement should be repaired first, then resurfacing can be applied on top.
Doing them in the wrong order leads to repeat cracking in the new surface.
